26 Shore Street looks like a typical terraced cottage from the outside. Don't be fooled. Close to the centre of Bowmore and looking out over the harbour, you'll be surprised by the transformation inside. The house was completely rebuilt and extended 10 years ago to create a bright and warm, open-plan, chic house with wooden floors, underfloor heating, comfortable beds, digital TV and everything you need to make your stay special and comfortable.
Inside the House
To make the most of the views the living accommodation is upstairs. The lounge has 2 large couches, wooden floors and an open fire. The open plan kitchen dining room has space for 8 dining. The kitchen has gas cooking and everything you need for your stay. There is also a comfortable couch in the dining area to relax and watch TV.
Double doors lead onto the balcony and from here there are views across the water and harbour. You can watch wonderful sunsets, wading birds and the boats coming in and out as you enjoy a glass of wine, whisky or cup of tea.
Outside
Bowmore is Islay's biggest village and home to the famous Bowmore Whisky Distillery. No 26 is about 200 metres from the centre of Bowmore. Outside you can access the shoreline with a short walk in either direction. The harbour is at the end of the street along with all its shops, hotels and cafes.
There is free, unrestricted parking outside the house.
And, of course, the Co-Op is on hand for all your groceries – usually open until 10pm!
